Giving families something to "Beleaf In"

At Myla’s BeLeaf, we believe that even in the darkest moments, love can take root and grow. Inspired by Myla Carrera’s legacy, our nonprofit foundation supports families navigating the emotional, physical, and financial challenges of childhood cancer.

Myla's Mission

The mission of Myla’s Beleaf is to provide emotional and financial support to families in Palm Beach County and across Florida whose lives have been touched by childhood cancer. By ensuring essential needs are met, we allow caregivers to focus on what matters most—the health and happiness of their child.

The Challenge

Every year over 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. While medical advances continue to improve prognosis, the diagnosis places an immediate emotional and financial strain on families.

Our Impact

Myla’s BeLeaf provides critical financial relief and stability to Florida families facing childhood cancer, helping cover essential needs during treatment so parents can focus on their child’s care while feeling supported, hopeful, and never alone.

How You Can Help

With 90% of contributions supporting families within Florida, and 80% directly benifiting South Florida families, Myla’s Beleaf is committed to keeping operational expenses low to maximize our support.

What “Beleaf” Means

Myla’s BeLeaf was born from love, loss, and unmistakable signs of connection. After Myla’s passing, her parents began receiving physical signs in the form of leaves. The leaves are gentle reminders that love never truly leaves us.

A leaf represents hope, renewal, and growth, values that guide everything we do. While Myla’s physical form is no longer with us, her spirit lives on through every family we support, every burden we help lift, and every smile we help restore.

We believe every child deserves to feel like a unicorn – rare, cherished and deeply valued.

Myla's Story

On October 6, 2011, a little magic galloped into our lives. Our sparkling unicorn, Myla Carrera, filled the world with warmth, kindness, and joy, bringing friends together effortlessly and loving fiercely. Though she left us on January 1, 2020, her light continues to shine through Myla’s Beleaf, inspiring hope, compassion, and love for children and families in need.
